Sunrise Departure

We saw many a fantastic sunset. It was not until our last day that we saw the rise. We were waiting for our plane to depart from Santorini to Athens to catch our last flight home.

Last Day in Santorini

On Saturday, I convinced the husband to rent a motorcycle. Starting at about 10:30 am we drove from one end of the island to the other. Light house in background of bottom picture. We went to the Ancient Ruins and what you are gazing at is an Ancient Theatre that overlooks the sea, just one section of the ancient city. We were so tempted to ride those Donkeys, but never did....so I just photographed them. And finally, our last beautiful sunset over the sea.

Caldera Excursion on the King Thera

On Friday, we took an excursion on a boat named KING THERA shown on bottom. Moving up shows our first stop to an active Volcano. We followed the rest of the tourists up, up, up, and up. One of them was willing to take a photo of us! Our last stop was at a port were we had lunch. There were always other boats and other people, but the crowds didnt really bother us...we were all so awestruck that everyone was happy and giggly.

Greece

Starting at bottom you see the view from our pool at the Royal Myconian in Mykonos. The middle photo shows the view from our room at the hotel in Santorini. We are pretty high up. The top photo was actually taken from the inside of our room at the Volcano Views Hotel in Santorini.....pretty cool huh? Oh and that ring in the water in the middle picture is a containment for oil leaked from a sunken cruise ship...glad I was not on it.

From bottom to top the women were at the Parthenon in Athens. The sights have been very crowded as bus load after bus load of folks enter. The middle photo is in an area of Mykonos called Little Venice as in the background you can see the buildings emerge from the sea. We were there to see the sunset. The top photo is the view of the beach from our room in Mykonos. I dont want to tell you the number of steps we had to go down to get there and climb back up to our room. But I will tell you I did not need to visit the gym. More tomorrow as now the internet is free at our hotel in Santorini. The view is magnificent and I am afraid to even try to photograph it as surely a photo cant capture the beauty.

Changing of the Guard

After 9 hours in the air, a 7 hour time differential, and hours of walking the city of Athens, we are back in the Hotel exhausted. But not until after watching the Changing of the Guard at the Athens Parliment. AWESOME.

Boats on the Green.

The boats are safely out of the water and will wait patiently for our return.
Meanwhile I'm sorry to say that despite wonderful company and very good food,
I don't think I will be returning to Siam in Lambertville any time soon. It was so loud last night,
I could barely hear my friends from across the small table. The mother who entertained her child by allowing spoons to be banged on the table and then neglecting to take the screeching
toddler outside didn't help. Nor did the restaurateurs who did not offer it as a suggestion.
With so many wonderful restaurants in the area there is no need to return.

River Walking

We decided to walk the river. Its easy when the water is low. Well, easy when going with the current. A little harder, as always, when one strives against the current.

Washington Crossing Bridge

Some people don't like crossing the WC bridge because it is soooooo narrow. Bike riders have to walk. But we like it here. Keeps the traffic down.
It is expected to close for 6 - 8 months for repair work. That will make I95 a mess.

Kayakers

We did get out yesterday and there was a lot of river activity. This photo, from earlier in the summer reminded me of my Casper.

Its a long walk down

Hoping to get out on the river today.
I just love how this Titusville resident
decorated the steps to the river.

New Paved Roads in the Crossing

I have lived in the crossing for over 20 years and this is the first time my neighborhood has been properly paved, despite 3 major floods. They came in waves with all kinds of tremendous equipment, taking about three days. They came very close to my corner garden but did not bend a blade. Great job guys.

Hibiscus

Visiting friends is a favorite summer activity. Visiting friends with gorgeous gardens is a plus.

Jack Hammer

Hard to believe, but oh so true. It is not even 6:30am.
The sun is just showing itself in the east, and this guy is
running a JACK HAMMER. I did not even have to leave my yard to get this shot.

Helmet Heads

Bucks County is a great place for motorcycle riding. Wonderful small river towns to visit, wineries, winding wooded roads, great restaurants and shopping.

"No Cameras Allowed" the sign said, at the entrance to the Citizens Bank Park in Philly.
Today, I plan on checking out you tube for all the Billy Joel and Elton John
videos and pics I saw folks grabbing with their phones, mini cameras and even what looked like DSLRs. Im leaving my picture spot blank today. What a silly one I am to have adhered to the rules.

River's Up

River's up, but nothing like we have seen in the past.
