Mocha Madness
Over the years I have become the holiday dessert maker and this year the request was made for the Mocha Cheesecake. It is delicious and comes from the 1989 Hershey's Fabulous Desserts, one of those little impulse paper books you get near the register of your local grocery store. I looked for the recipe here but couldnt find it. You might find someting else, like another favorite of mine Hersheys Double Chocolate Mint Cookies. Happy baking and Happy Thanksgiving.

So Much to Learn at the Preserve
It seems to me that the BHWFP is a wonderful place to be at any time of the year. However, it is hard to identify all that is there. Im going out on a limb here and taking some educated guesses. Surely that first pic is a Maple and Im going with Sugar Maple. American Holly in the background and Im going way out on a limb (hahahah) and saying that is MountainWinterberry in the forground. I have no recollection of what that bark is but I can tell you the tree has been killed by a woodpecker who has pecked holes going around and around and around the trunk making a fantastic pattern. TREE FUNGI. That bridge is just wonderful and stoney and oh so easy to identify: BRIDGE. The Sycamores are stunning. I thought that fine cluster of keys might be an American Hornbeam but the more I look at it the more I have no idea. How am I ever going to learn all the trees?

9/11 Memorial and Occupy Wall Street
Another day in NYC. I have been wanting to get down to ground zero, for a while now. Gave it a good try a few weeks ago, only to learn you needed tickets. So I got a ticket and went down. It really is awesome to watch the progress there. There is still much to be done.
After walking around the Memorial site we headed up to Zuccotti Park to check out Occupy Wall Street. Steven Stills and David Crosby were there and the police where everywhere.
