Took the tour of the newly renovated
Pearl S Buck house yesterday. What a fascinating display of how a person can turn a hardship into a legacy. Simply speaking, a daughter of missionaries was raised in China. She matured, married, and gave birth to a special needs child who required residential placement outside of the home. Results of the birth made it impossible for Pearl Buck to give birth again so she adopted children. From the depths and realities of those life experiences came an award winning and best selling novel, The Good Earth, and an International Adoption Agency.
No photos allowed inside so here are a few from outside.
