Foodie Friday at Havana

It's great living so close to New Hope and Lambertville and all the unique shops, galleries and restaurants in the two riverside towns.  It gives me the advantage of being able to visit during the week and not having to fight the crowds on the weekends.  Although the temps slipped back to the low 20s with a wind chill causing it to feel like single digits, this past Tuesday the temps had soared into the 60s.  It was a perfect day to enjoy some outside dining.  Nikolas at the Login Inn, in New Hope  offered good food, good service and a great view of the main street. People watching is always fun.  My companion for lunch ordered a Malbec  Margarita which she seemed to enjoy and I ordered a Cosmo..  Lunch came from the Appetizer section of the Menu.  My companion ordered the Smoked Fish Platter and I enjoyed the Brie Wrapped in Pastry with Raspberry Sauce and Fresh Fruit.  Not cheap by any means.  The bill came to $70. with tip, but well worth it for eating and cocktails outdoors on the first warm day after this snowy, cold and seemingly unending Winter.

Delaware Cruise: Rolling through the Weekend

What a beautiful weekend to roll on through sitting behind my man on the BMW GTL.

  Cool, crisp, fresh morning air, blue skies and green landscape. 

Out to breakfast both Saturday and Sunday.  YEHAAAA. 

We went off to English Town Auction on Saturday.

See where I  cleaned my plate when Delaware Chews on Friday.

Sunday we enjoyed breakfast out as well, and stopped to see the Sunflowers

planted at Lake Nockamixon.  Sadly, they had already been mowed, although

 I cant figure out why.  So we hung out long enough

to arrive shortly after New Hope Craft Guild's Show

at the New Hope Winery opened.

New Hope Historical Society Garden Tour June 2011

I was gifted two tickets to the New Hope Historical Society Garden Tour one day before the tour.  My sister was the first available to take the second ticket.  We arrived at the Parry Mansion at about 11:30 to pick up our gift bags.  The first garden on the tour was Paxson Hill Farm.  The private gardens were open to the public for the tour and they were indeed lovely.  There was an aviary on the property with peacocks and for the first time ever I saw a white peacock. As you can see from the top four pictures there was also a pond with lilly pads, running water and a bridge.  There was a working nursery and there was a buy one and get another of lessor value free coupon in my gift bag so I got myself the only remaining beautiful gardenia and some other very coloful plant that was near the register. 
We took a break and headed over to the Carversville Inn which looked packed so we walked across the street to the Country Store for a Sandwich.  After lunch we headed to Fleecydale Road.  The gate and Angel's Trumpet was on the property of Trey Wilson.  Trey is active with Bowmans Hill Wildflower Perserve and his property reflected it.  It was lush and natural and cool and comfortable skirting a creek.   It was my favorite of the three porperties we visited.  Trey was an active host.  The burst of I dont know what was captured at the Lutz property just across the street.  It was a great day...I only wish we could have done more but it was closing in on 3:30 when we finished just three of the lovely properties.

Its Still Friday and I Went Out To Catch The Snow

I needed to get into Lambertville to pick up my boots so on the way home I drove through New Hope...Wouldnt you know it? It's snowing again. So, Im on the porch trying to capture the snow. I have it on a real slow setting and this nut case is driving by on his bike.

I couldnt change the speed, or zoom out fast enough cause you know he was cruising. I think sometimes, my didnt quite get it the way I wanted it pics, turn out pretty good. There is something mysterious about it that I like. Its weird the way these cloudy, snowy day pics look black and white.

SNOW

Snow! I saw the child in the window from a residential club in New York, excited to see the snow.

Had a great couple of days there. Took some pics with my blackberry and lost them in the download process. There still on the phone but I'm to lazy to try again.

Went to breakfast again at the Full Moon in Lambertville and opened our red envelope. Yay! We won a dinner for two. YAHOOOOOOOOO. These 3 pictures were taken in the car while it was moving....
