Delaware Chews at Becco NYC

What a great idea it was to purchase a season of entertainment at the Manhattan Theatre Club
Picked up 4 shows for a very reasonable price and went to the first one yesterday but not before dining at Becco.
It has been a very long time since I last ate in this wonderful Italian restaurant.  It was a real pleasure.
We arrived a little early and it appeared that seating for lunch had just begun...We were shown to a little table in the bar and I asked if there were any other seats available.  We were then shown to a small table in the dining room and as the crowd poured in it did get a bit loud.  The service was excellent from the host being completely agreeable to our server who was attentive and friendly despite the growing crowd.  He was helpful with suggestions without being pushy.
Patti had a full vegetarian lunch platter and I ordered the crispy shrimp appetizer, delicious.  We ordered one dessert to share and Patti had tea.  We were delighted with everything, and felt sated upon completion of our fine and tasty meal.  Our bill was $56 including tip...reasonable for NYC.
I used to think you can tell what a restaurant was like by the onion soup...I don't order that much anymore...Now I think you can tell a good restaurant by its offering of bread and whatever they want you to spread on top.

In brief, the Snow Geese, with Mary Louise Parker, was a great story performed with compassion and excellence.   I look forward to the rest of the season.

Hmmmm just realized Becco is owned by LIDIA...neat!

London Day 4 Tower of London

Still had some time left on the Hop on Hop Off so after breakfast we took it to the Tower of London.  Spent a rainy day there inside and out.  Just about the time we were ready to leave it stopped which was fine since we were walking.  Over to one of the many Fullers Pie and Ale Houses we have seen.  While there, we got ourselves tickets to Billy Elliot which was one of the better shows I have seen in a while.  And what fun to see it in London...The dancing was AMAZING, the cast and acting just WONDERFUL.

Room of Kings with a nice view of the Tower Bridge

Lots of spiral staircases and long narrow halls.

This giant Castle had an armory and a mint but neither money nor war could stop the rain.

a Full Staff of Beefeaters and their families live in the castle and consider it a village and home.

Wednesdays and NYC

I'm not really sure how many years Patti and I have been getting together on Wednesdays for
either a movie and dinner or an all day event to enjoy the culture and arts around us.
Yesterday we went into NYC to see ONCE.

We arrived early and went to St. Malachy's The Actors Chapel and I learned there is a
Patron St. of Artists.

When we arrived at the theatre the stage was full of musicians jamming and ticket holders.  I did not realize it was part of the show until I snapped and got a finger wagging from the lady in red.

It was a great show!
Sister, if you are reading we had lunch at the Bangkok House and this time I ordered
the Chicken Coconut Soup.  It came with 2 pieces of Chicken. HA!
We had the prix fix and with tip it was 10 bucks a piece.
Can't beat that price for lunch in NYC.  Keep in mind after the theatre we went for a drink.
THAT DRINK WAS $9.
I LOVE NYC
