Pennsyltucky last days Hunter, NY then Home

We left Ithaca heading to the Catskills for our very last stop. It was raining when we started out and eventually cleared up.  Prattsville was closed but since hunter was so close we were allowed through the closed road to reach our destination.  It was sad to see the devastation of the town due to flash flooding in the area, after Irene.  We were so ready for the beers Chuck from the Fairlawn had waiting for us when we arrived.  Bye Bye Robyn and Danny. Bye Bye Sherri and Howard.   Wait for me Furmie....and homeward bound we are.

Same Same but Different Pennsyltucky Riders Arrive in Ithaca

We left Niagara and took the very long way to Ithaca, via Naples where we happened on a Grape festival and had to stop to get  some.  As you can see, there was a lot of traffic entering the US and a lot of riders on the road.  It was a beautiful thing riding along the finger lakes but difficult to get a good photo on the move.  Once in Ithaca we settled at the Miller Inn a lovely place with a lovely host.  Furman and I took the cottage room in the back allowing our traveling companion sisters and spouses to be in the house and close to each other.  For our second day in Ithaca we went off on our own to the Corning Museum not much more than an hour away.  It is amazing what can be done with glass, and more  amazing to find most of the stuff in the gift shop was made in, where else, China. Turns out Corning makes TV Screens, car windshields and a few other products, NOT including Pyrex.  On the rebound we went through Watkins Glen and we were back in time for an early seating at the Moosewood Restaurant. By 7, we were having drinks to Celebrate the 19th Anniversary of Howard and Sherri's marital bliss, at Madelines.

Pennsyltucky

Left Lambertville yesterday and headed up 519 cutting over to the river to stop in Belvidere.  Picked up sandwiches at Thisilldous and ate them in a park near the Delaware Water Gap.  Reached Fern Hall in Clifford with enough time to make ourselves at home at the bar, clean up and relax a bit before having dinner on site in the lovely restaurant.  We woke this morning to rain. We drove along route 6 for a long while and sadly saw much of the destruction the most recent hurricane and rains left in its path.  We were so cold and wet that we took a break in a little riverside cafe and could see the Susquehanna where it was supposed to be.  We were told a foot of water was in the restaurant at the height of the flood by the waitress who served us our steamy soups. When we were warm, we braved the weather again and cruised out in the rain almost all the way to Wellsboro at which time the sun came out and with it the camera. Just another 50 miles to our destination, the West Gate in Coudersport,

Pennsyltucky

Hard to believe that what you see is almost everything that I will need for one week of motorcycle travel.  The black pack should fit nice and snug inside the hard side case.  It has all my clothes, chargers, kindle and small cosmetic bag.  The large cosmetic bag will go into the rear hard case for daily use.  It has my gloves, sunglasses, scarf, wrapter and some extras. Ill carry my camera  and phone cases.  I will admit to already putting a pair of sandals on board already.  So thats it....other than what I wear out when we start...leather jacket...boots...helmet.  Oh and the rain gear goes to.  THATS IT.
Now I sure hope it doesnt rain and I sure hope the river continues to go down and I sure hope my cat Slater greets me when I return home.
