The Foils, Foibles and Follies of MaraBella and Me.

Took a week break from the VIEWS.   As far as I know, only one person noticed!!!  Well that sure is indicative.  THANK YOU RUTHY.  I miss you.

MaraBella is back in obedience school at Golden Grange Kennels and the training is going going going.  I feel like we are always taking 3 steps forward and one back back back.  Literally, as we are working on heeling and back is actually a command to get her into the healing start position.  With treats visible, she can go quite a few paces.  Squirrels, cats, of course other dogs, people and even birds and planes distract her.  Yesterday we had to walk past a fox who was quite a distance away but still an attraction.  Today we walked down a path, with horse and geese in the pasture on one side and 4 deer in the field on the other.  She was so engrossed in the geese, that I don't think she even noticed the deer, following us with their eyes in the early morning light of this beautiful day.

Still she is characteristically sweet!  Aaron adores her and enjoys a good tug game as much as MaraBella.  I know this because he brought her a new toy so they could play.

She LOVES it!

Delawares Hues of Red

I have been taking my Iphone out on my morning walks with MaraBella.  It gives me a chance to take advantage of the morning light.  This bug was just begging to pop with selective color.  I am sure there are multiple ways to achieve this.  Sometimes I just find the easiest is to use the magic wand tool to make my selection.  Copy the selection.  I desaturate the original image to remove color. Then I can simply paste the color selection right back into place.

Delaware Views Hues of Red

Furm and I were leaving the Washington Crossing Inn early Friday evening on our bicycles when I saw the Bucks County Trolley RED after delivering it's bridal party.  There is an old saying "the best camera is the one you have with you"  Shot with my Iphone.

Ok so it isn't RED but I did take it with the Iphone.  The prettiest peonies where in vases on the bar.

Delaware Issues Common Cents or Lack Of It.

Before the New Year I got on the scale and saw how close I was getting to a number that scared me.  So before I reached it,  I downloaded "Loose It" a weight management app on my Iphone for FREE.  I really liked using it and today I can tell you I weighed in at 136.6.  The app allowed me to record nutrition facts and calories by food item. It even let me make recipes with a calorie count.  I also liked that I could put in my exercise for the day and get a calorie reduction.  All for FREE!!!

I guess I felt I was due for a reward.  Well, isn't it common sense to reward yourself.

Delaware Chews at the Glass House Tavern in NYC

My good friend Patti and I decided to subscribe to the Manhattan Theatre Club and had the good fortune to brave the frigid temperatures to get to the matinee last Wednesday.  I can assure you it was freezing.  We got out at Penn Station and rather than risk freezing to the ground as we walked, we took the subway up to 50th leaving us just 3 blocks to get to the theater on 47th.
The Glass House Tavern was right  across the street from the theater and coupled with the recommendation of a friend I made at the Edison earlier this month it was a no brainer to go.
It shouldn't surprise you that I dug into my Tomato Fennel soup so quickly that it was gone before I thought to take a picture.  And then those three delicious raviolis also found their way into my tummy...oh darn.  So best I have for you is the recommendation to go and an Iphone pic.  Neither of us had a cocktail making the bill rather reasonable for a theater district lunch.  $23 pp including a generous tip. There was a nice bar and booth seating downstairs and also a large dining area upstairs where we were shown to a table
