Delaware Chews on Foodie Friday at 1906 in Longwood Gardens

Had a fabulous day at Longwood Gardens with a good friend.  In an effort to be frugal and also save some time, I brought a nice light lunch of fruit and salads which we ate in a designated picnic area,  We were not hungry when we decided we just had to try the fancy restaurant, 1906, on the property.  And you must know after walking around for a few hours we were thirsty and wanted cocktails.  Look how they served the bread in the cutest little white ceramic planter...and it was delicious.  Soft and warm and really tasty.

We ordered some special cocktails and admittedly they were a little weird.  We picked a charcuterie to share and everything on it was delicious.  Might have been a special because I just checked the menu and it is no longer on it.

Then I had to play around some.  I don't know why  people think you should never remove color from beautiful flowers.  I like to.

Thanks for joining me Jess.

Delaware Issues Common Cents: Getting Organized

The first two images are straight out of the box and the time is approaching noon on a beautiful, bright and sunny, blue sky day.  Both are automotive and fit into the category of transportation.  Both have chrome showing my reflection, self image, or self portrait.  They were taken on a BMW Motorcycle ride to an AIRPORT.  All of these categories confuse me and although I know I need to organize my images and even more important DELETE a whole bunch, I find the time on the computer overwhelming, especially when the weather is nice and I want to be outside....OUTSIDE NATURAL LIGHT, EXPOSURE...even more categories

And then what happens when I start to play, even more time on the computer, and add more images and Categories. BLACK AND WHITE
CS3, ABSTRACT, ADJUSTED, MANIPULATED, CURVED

And the vacuum is humming plug me in....here I am trying to figure out which images to delete, which images to print, which images are for the BLOG, OY another category with subdivision for each day, and in what category DO I FILE THEM.  Maybe I'm ready for a Class on LIGHTROOM...isn't that what lots of people use to name, file and organize their images? Saving time on filing and organizing will give me more time to go out and enjoy my camera.  Saving time on the computer to have more time to go out with my Camera is Common Cents to me.   Hey, I forgot Wheels.

London Fun 1

We left from Newark Airport on the most delightful night.  The air was cool and crisp and the blue sky turned dark slowly with a golden sunset keeping the light from fading completely for a long while.  Everything went very smoothly.  We slept most of the way.

Six and 1/2 hours later we arrived at Heathrow at 10am, local time.  There was a steady light rain falling for the majority of our ride to the Premier Inn County Hall in Central London.  Our location really is great.  With lots to do in the immediate vicinity and easy walking to many sights.
We put on our rain coats and figured it might be a good time to explore Waterloo Station.

I really liked the lines here...we were sitting on the second level looking out at the trains coming and going.

Eventually the sun came out and we were able to take a nice leisurely walk along the Thames.

This guy was doing a little comedic magic show.  When he saw me with my camera he dropped from a stand and posed for me just like this...he was pretty funny.  Ultimately he managed to get someone to give up a cell phone for his trick.  I watched him get that cell phone INSIDE the balloon.   He graciously accepted my US dollar.  The exchange rate is so bad for us here that we pay about $1.60 for one pound.  Still he was happy.

I was trying to stay up as long as possible so after a little rest time in our room I came back out for some night shots.

Delaware Amuse on the River

What a lovely evening on the Delaware, shared with friends until the sun went down.
Wish I could show you the most fantastic entertainment we had of two eagles trying to steal a fish from an osprey. It was just so high up in the sky that it made more sense to watch and enjoy then try to focus and capture with the OM-D.  Although we were rooting for the osprey, the eagles made off with the treasure.

Only Limited by Your Imagination

The post processing programs are awesome.
The limits of what you can do with them are in your imagination.

A Walk by the Creek

With all this color exploding all over the place and with Spring seemingly holding off as long as possible I was feeling a little Black and White.

Windows Live Photo Gallery is really a simple program to facilitatate getting organized an to make some adjustments. I cant say after a few minutes I would be able to do any better with these black and whites in Photoshop Elements...hmmmm could be a nice experiment.
C'mon SPRING...we are  all ROOTING for you.

Black and White for a Change

This looked like it should be black and white so I made it so.

This looks like it is black and white...but it is just the way the light hit it on Friday when it was still snowing

Miles on Birds and Bikes

While I was home and cozy putting a few more miles on the colorful
Bird of Paradise and then making a frame for it, hubby was bundled up for the cold
and putting some miles on the K1600.
