Delaware Chews at Home: Breakfast of Champions

I feel so seduced by the food industry even why I try not to be.  With its ever insatiable lust for my business it advertises organics, and naturals and probiotics and all kinds of things that are supposed to be good for me in bright colorful packaging drawing my attention to things like Quaker Granola and Swiss Muesli.
I thought I might like to try them with Vanilla yogurt instead of milk.
When I  got home and compared serving size, calories, total fat and cholesterol, I  found I might as well stick to my Cheerios or Rice Krispies a banana and milk.

ZOOM IN AND CHECK OUT THE SERVING SIZE.

Swiss and Quaker suggest 1/2 cup at 220 and 200 calories respectively.   That's packing a lot of calories into 1/2 cup. Add a cup of yogurt and that's another  190 calories.   400 calories.
Kelloggs and General Mills serve 1 1/4 cup at 130 calories and 1 cup at 110 respectively. twice as much cereal at half the calories.  1 cup of 2% milk increases calorie count by  130.
Even better I can make myself 1/2 cup of Quaker Oats,  1/2 cup fresh blueberries, 1 tablespoons of maple syrup and a few shakes of cinnamon for a real breakfast of champions, at about 250 healthy fiber and vitamin packed calories.

Delaware Chews at Buddies in Lambertville, NJ

Something about getting up early and heading out on the motorcycle for breakfast gives me great pleasure.  Meeting up with some friends makes it even better.  Not a morsel was left on any of the four plates.  My fresh fruit topped waffle was YUMMY. Looked so good, I dug right in before even THINKING about taking a photo.  Outside seating was available but it was one of those really hot and humid, NJ days even early in the morning...so it was fine to be inside with A/C on.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Ride to Sky Manor Airport and Restaurant

Took a nice ride this morning out to Sky Manor Airport and Restaurant.  We had a fine breakfast for less than $20 including tip and thats how we like it.  The decor was definately plane.  After we ate we sat outside and watched the small planes come in.  That red plane was so clean and the prop so shiny I was able to see my reflection in it.  We took the long way home, picking up route 519, one of our favorites, down into Milford.  And finally, I was able to get a good shot of that River Road Mule from the back of the bike while cruising past.  I just love shooting pictures while sitting on the back of the bike.
