Quaker Oats and Jam

I have been trying to eat foods that are better for me.  Oatmeal seems like a great breakfast choice.   I like it with a slab of butter and smothered with maple syrup. I know, I may be defeating the purpose.  A few days ago I swished some apple butter into it and thought it was pretty good.  Yesterday, I picked raspberries and made jam, so this morning I decided to try a little jam in my Oatmeal.  Why not?  Oatmeal and Jam go together in fruit bar recipes.  So I mixed it up and gave it a taste. Good but not great. It was lacking something. A dash of Ginger!  Now that I have finished eating it and am licking my spoon, I imagine a smidgen of vanilla would have finished it off perfectly.   Ill give that a try next time.

Wheaton Arts

This weekend our ride took us over the Burlington Bristol Bridge and on to Wheaton Arts Center where we were able to see some glass blowing, clay throwing, and the making of miniature glass animals, prior to entering the Glass Museum.  It was a great day and watching the crafters inspired me.  Oh and I have to say it was pretty neat to recognize some things like the ones I own on display.  I wonder where i could find a sugar dish just like that one to match the creamer I have....?????

Another Great Motorcycle Ride

Another beautiful Saturday and another great motorcycle ride.  After breakfast at the Brass Ring Cafe, we took the back roads as much as we could to the Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ.  We went for the New Jersey Rocks exhibit expecting to learn about all the famous New Jersey rockers.  We arrived just before opening time so we had a few minutes to wonder around outside.  It was a surprise to see a Seward Johnson Sculpture.  The NJ Rocks Exhibit was well worth the entrance fee of $10. The other inside exhibits were very cool.  Music boxes, player pianos,  and early French Automata.  We learned about New Jersey's contribution to the Rail System and sat and watched the miniature train go round and round the track.  There was also really cool Heads and Hands exhibit showing purses and hats dating  back to the 1800s.  We learned that next month the Museum will have an exhibit entitled "100 Years of Motorcycles".  I guess that means we will go again.

Family at LBI

Had a great day at the beach with my cousins.  They like to go for a week in the summer and I like to visit them when they do.   I think watermelon must taste best when served in a frying pan....

Saturday Morning Breakfast Ride to Sky Manor Airport and Restaurant

Took a nice ride this morning out to Sky Manor Airport and Restaurant.  We had a fine breakfast for less than $20 including tip and thats how we like it.  The decor was definately plane.  After we ate we sat outside and watched the small planes come in.  That red plane was so clean and the prop so shiny I was able to see my reflection in it.  We took the long way home, picking up route 519, one of our favorites, down into Milford.  And finally, I was able to get a good shot of that River Road Mule from the back of the bike while cruising past.  I just love shooting pictures while sitting on the back of the bike.

Cape May Days

I have been having a lot of fun lately driving around in my Audi or on the back of Furman's BMWK1600.  I am trying to take pictures where ever I go and will get back to some of them soon. I have to sort through all the photos from the BMW INTERNATIONAL RALLY IN BLOOMSBURG, PA.   For now I just want to post some of the shots from my recent drive to visit my friend Joann at her new place in Cape May.   I arrived about dinner time on monday night at the Harbor View Restaurant, which I reviewd on Trip Advisor.  The following day,we took a bike ride to the Washington Mall and strolled through some of the shops and spent the afternoon on the beach. On Wednesday we picked up the Audio Tour of Cape May at the Emlen Physick Estate and started our tour on bikes as we headed to Hughes, down Decatur then back on Jackson hitting the buttons and listening to our head sets at the different houses on the tour.  Maybe you know the area and can guess at the houses or pieces of of them  I chose to highlight.  Kathy do you?
